19 of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev secured his first championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- world number one, has had a torrid year, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Now training with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, he has gradually progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
This marks his first trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after that period of 2023.
Success also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct events.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented tennis professional the champion.
"This title is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
The player's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted some to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.
However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, supported by an enhanced serve.
The champion recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the final five points to take the lead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his first ATP Tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
The opponent saved 4 early-game chances in a competitive final set before the champion secured a break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he secured victory with a rally at the net area, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
